MLS Rumors: Finley to EPL's Wolverhampton?

Rumors out of England have former Real Salt Lake forward and USMNT World Cup flop Robbie Finley catching the eye of Wolverhampton Wolves coach Mick McCarthy.

The Daily Mail (UK) reports that Finley impressed the Wolves manager during this past summer's World Cup.

We're all for Americans moving aboard if it helps their development, their contribution to the National Team, and raises the profile of the sport at home, but this little tidbit has us perplexed. Finley was completely ineffective up top for the Yanks in South Africa (we would've rather seen Edson Buddle given his hot streak in MLS) and contributed to the second straight scoreless World Cup for U.S. strikers.

What, exactly, that McCarthy saw from Finley in June (and the rest of his MLS season) that would warrant a run out in England has us running back to this summer's game tapes.

We'll happily eat crow if Finley proves us wrong, but at this moment we're thinking this looks a bit weird from this side of the pond.
