NEWS WATCH - Stu Holden Named "Prem's Best Player" at Mid-Season

Supporters of Stu Holden, the USMNT player and former Houston Dynamo star, have been singing the midfielder's praise all season for his breakout role with Bolton. Now Holden, in his first English Premier League season, is also getting recognized by the fans there as well.

Readers of "The Guardian," using their average player ratings for each EPL match, have chosen the American international as their "best player so far this term".
"No player embodies this alluring blending of industry and invention better than Holden, who, as a bonus, over the last month has also added goals to his game. His average mark for the campaign so far, according to readers, has been 7.4."
Certainly there have been many other stars in the Premier League this season, including other Americans Tim Howard and Clint Dempsey who have shown for Everton and Fulham, respectively, but for such a relative newcomer like Holden to be noticed so quickly for his workmanlike performances is great feather in his cap.
