Obviously we're all about American soccer here at the Free Beer Movement, buuuuuut that doesn't mean we can't be excited about the return of the professional game across the pond. One week from today means the kick-off of the English Premier League!
Really, this means that we're able to have our cake AND eat it, too. Two great leagues, Major League soccer and the EPL playing simultaneously (plus loads of others, of course)! It's one more reminder that being a soccer fan in the United States is one of the greatest places to be. Our friends over at Nutmeg Radio wrote American soccer fans are greater than English fans because we're dedicated so much more to the game itself; taking it in in all forms, across the globe. We couldn't agree more.
We're able to wake up on a Saturday or Sunday mornings with our English coffee soccer and work our way through multiple leagues like the afternoon tea of the Italian Leagues and finish off a fine weekend evening with a nice cold glass of Major League Soccer beer.
