Free Beer Feature: Leinenkugel's Oktoberfest

Waaaaaay back (before the great FBM computer outage of 2010) we got a friendly little package in the mail from the folks at Jacob Leinenkugel's Brewing Company out of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

Inside we're two tasty bottles of their Oktoberfest brews. If you get a chance, check out all that Leinenkugel's has to offer (their available nationwide, a part of Miller Brewing Co.'s distribution network). Much like Sam Adams, this macro-micro brew has been at the fore front of starting the craft beer revolution. Despite their much larger status now, you can still respect what "Leinie's" is putting out there.

Free Beer Feature: Newcastle Summer Ale

The last days and weeks of summer are ticking down, but that's no reason to despair.

On the plus side, if you've watching the kids all summer, they're back to school and you get, maybe, just maybe a bit of your sanity back. If your a teacher like "Danny Beerseed"... well... now you know why he drinks so much.

Luckily the folks at Newcastle's PR agency, Formula, came to the rescue with their "Summer Ale".  This little bottle of therapy came into FBM HQ during one of those unbearably hot Texas afternoons and we put it on ice immediately so we could take it down to the one place in the world we wanted to be at that moment; poolside.

To maximize this brew's flavor definitely, definitely, get it as cold as possible. All the more refreshing on those "thick as pea soup" humid days.

If you're looking for that beer that going to go down easy on a late summer scorcher give Newcastle "Summer  Ale" a taste. Available at most beer outlets.

Free Beer Feature: Newcastle Brown Ale and the "Geordie Schooner"

It's not everyday that we get stuff in the mail (We are very lonely and have no friends) so it's extra exciting when the mailman(person) dodges the elaborate traps and the guard dogs we have set for him to drop a package off at FBM HQ.

We were expecting some thing in the mail (discreetly labeled, of course), but the contents of this package were entirely surprising.

Free beer!

Free Newcastle Brown Ale to be exactly. The lovely gents at Newcastle were acute enough to recognize the brilliance that is this site and sent, for our enjoyment, two bottles of the good, brown stuff.

Luckily, they also anticipated the fact that the refrigerator box we call home lacks beverage containment devices otherwise known as glasses. So in with the beer were two of their new Newcastle "Geordie Schooner" serving glasses.

Next time you're having a Newcastle Brown Ale at the bar make sure you get it served in one of these sharp-looking glasses. It makes the beer taste even better! (Not sure if that's scientifically verified, but who do we look like? Science-y people? Ha!)
