This weekend our amateur soccer club friends, the Stegman's Old Boys, are hosting their first annual SOB Cup in Minneapolis, Minnesota. One reason we like these guys? They love their beer.
The SOBs have a hilariously serious "club site" where they have a profile series drinking beer with their players and, best of all, they're sponsored by a local homebrew company, Northern Brewer.
Most importantly this group of SOBs are having their first organized tournament this weekend with a number of other local Minneapolis sides. The event will feature FREE BEER and brewing demonstrations from Northern Brewer with the tourney champions drinking homebrew from the SOB Cup. Sounds like plenty of quality FBM-time if you're in the area.Now for the "Doing Good With a Brew" part of the this feature. The SOBs depart from their name and are sponsoring the charity, Pints for Prostates.
If you've in the Twin Cities area then you should check out the inaugural SOB Cup with loads of opportunities for FREE BEER and also a charitable cause.
Oh, oh... and there are post-tourney drink specials at The Tin Cup as well. This thing is chalk full of opportunities for soccer newbies to be exposed to the beautiful game Free Beer Movement-style!
